I’m sitting here in the Beijing airport, on my way to Bangkok from Osaka, and I’m in a state of shock. The election results aren’t all in yet, but it really doesn’t look good for LGBTQ+ rights. By the time you’re reading this, it may all be over.

Here’s the hard truth: the shifting political and democratic systems in the USA aren’t favoring us. But hey, that’s not the end of our story—it’s just a stark reminder of why the freedom to roam, to choose where and how we live, has never been more vital.

It also means that we can’t (and shouldn’t) give up. But THAT is a different conversation after the shock wears off.

Being a PrideNomad isn’t just about sipping cocktails on a beach in Bali or exploring the streets of Paris (although let’s be real, that’s pretty fantastic).

It’s about creating spaces where we can breathe easy, where our rights aren’t up for debate with every election cycle. It’s about living with dignity in places that move forward, not backward.

So what do we do? We take control. We redefine ‘home.’

We find those corners of the world where progress isn’t a dirty word and where our community is celebrated, not just tolerated. We support these places, invest in them, become part of them. And maybe, just maybe, we show others that a better quality of life isn’t just a dream—it’s a choice.

Now, more than ever, we need to connect, to share our stories, and to mobilize. We need to be clear about who we are and how we want to live. And we need to remember that no one can take away our power to decide our futures.
