UP FRONT:

Off-The-Beaten-Path Part 2: Even More LGBTQ+ Travel Gems You Need to Know About!

Last week, we uncovered four incredible off-the-beaten-path LGBTQ+ destinations: Uruguay, Nepal, Cape Verde, and Norway. This week, we’re diving into even more fabulous finds, including spots with digital nomad perks, LGBTQ+-friendly vibes, and breathtaking adventures. Ready to explore? Let’s go!

5. Brazil

Where Pride never ends—and remote work is a breeze.

Brazil knows how to throw a party (São Paulo’s Pride is literally the largest in the world), but it’s also a dream for LGBTQ+ digital nomads. While Brazil doesn’t have a formal digital nomad visa, it offers a Temporary Work Visa that many remote workers use to stay for up to a year. Plus, the affordable cost of living means you can work from a chic café in Rio without blowing your budget.

Don’t miss: Ipanema Beach, where the queer community gathers, or Salvador for Afro-Brazilian culture and nightlife that will have you dancing until dawn.

6. Chile

Wilderness, wine, and a long-term stay option.

Chile is a haven for adventurers and LGBTQ+ travelers alike. Legal same-sex marriage makes it a standout in South America, and Santiago’s queer scene is thriving. But did you know Chile offers a Temporary Resident Visa for remote workers? This visa lets you stay up to two years, giving you plenty of time to explore the Andes, sip your way through Casablanca Valley, or get lost in the colorful streets of Valparaíso.

Fun tip: Wi-Fi is reliable in major cities, so you can hop between Zoom calls and mountaintop views with ease.

7. Slovenia

The fairytale destination where you can stay for a year.

Slovenia’s storybook charm is matched only by its forward-thinking policies. The country legalized same-sex marriage in 2022 and is incredibly welcoming to LGBTQ+ travelers. For digital nomads, Slovenia offers a Temporary Residence Permit, allowing you to stay up to 12 months and explore everything from Lake Bled’s fairytale castle to Ljubljana’s buzzing queer bars.

Why it’s great: It’s affordable compared to neighboring Western European countries, and you’ll feel right at home with its growing LGBTQ+ scene. Just imagine sipping coffee at a queer-owned café before hiking through the Julian Alps. Perfection.

8. Malta

Europe’s tiny LGBTQ+ powerhouse.

Don’t let its size fool you—Malta is one of Europe’s most progressive countries for LGBTQ+ rights. It’s been at the top of ILGA-Europe’s rankings for years, and same-sex marriage has been legal since 2017. Even better, Malta offers a Nomad Residence Permit, allowing remote workers to stay up to a year while enjoying 300 days of sunshine.

Check out Valletta, the vibrant capital with stunning architecture, or head to Gozo for a slower pace and jaw-dropping beaches. It’s small, sunny, and oh-so-inclusive.

9. Bonus: Transatlantic Cruises

The LGBTQ+ floating community.

Okay, so it’s not a single destination, but hear us out. Transatlantic cruises are a fantastic way to explore multiple countries while enjoying all the perks of a queer-friendly floating hotel. Many cruise lines host LGBTQ+ mixers, Pride-themed parties, and other inclusive events, making it easy to connect with fellow travelers.

It’s the ultimate escape: decadent dining, endless ocean views, and stops in ports that could inspire your next big move. Perfect for nomads who love the journey as much as the destination.

Final Thoughts

From Brazil’s tropical Pride celebrations to Slovenia’s Alpine fairytales and Malta’s sunny shores, these destinations prove that PrideNomads have a world of opportunities waiting for us. Whether you’re chasing adventure, community, or just a killer Wi-Fi connection, the possibilities are endless.

Which destination are you packing for? Let us know—and don’t forget to share your travel stories. Your next adventure might just inspire someone else to take the leap. 🌈✈️

STRATEGY FOR SANITY:

AI, Critics, and the PrideNomad Mission

Last week, I shared an email about a new AI-powered tool—a potential game-changer for entrepreneurs and digital nomads looking to grow their businesses remotely. It sparked some interesting reactions, including one that I’d like to share with you (anonymously, of course).

The reader felt the product was part of an “evil movement” and criticized PrideNomad for stepping outside their vision of what we should cover—travel, community, and networking for LGBTQ+ digital nomads. They also felt our response to their feedback was “snarky.”

At first, this frustrated me. After all, we’ve spent months sharing tips on everything from coworking spaces and visa hacks to human rights updates and strategies for building location-independent businesses. One email, about a tool that might help entrepreneurs, was enough for this person to discount it all?

But rather than react emotionally, I leaned on something I’ve come to appreciate more and more: AI as a tool for clarity and balance.

How AI Helped Me Respond Thoughtfully

When emotions are high—whether from criticism or confrontation—it’s easy to respond defensively. But here’s the beauty of AI: it can help us pause, reflect, and reframe.

For instance, I used AI to help craft my reply to that critique. It allowed me to step back, look at the situation objectively, and create a response that balanced firmness with professionalism. Instead of escalating the issue, I turned it into an opportunity for dialogue and reflection.

This is just one of the ways AI can empower us—not by replacing human connection, but by enhancing how we communicate and engage.

Why Criticism Can Be a Good Thing

Here’s something I’ve learned over my 40+ years as a professional speaker, coach, and entrepreneur: the more successful you are, the more unique you are, and the more you celebrate who you are, the more haters you’ll have.

No matter how helpful your intent, there will always be people who take offense at even the nicest things you do. But here’s the key: It’s not about YOU. It’s about THEM.

What is about YOU is how you rise above the insanity and stay focused on your goal—to make a difference in the world.

That’s why this community exists. PrideNomad is here to bring together like-minded people who support and uplift each other. We’re a reminder that even when the critics (and/or the crazies) challenge us, you’ve got a network of people who see your value and have your back.

This is also where tools like AI can help. While not every critic is “crazy,” some feedback can feel personal or overwhelming. AI gives us the space to step back, organize our thoughts, and respond in a way that reflects the best version of ourselves.

And let’s be honest—this particular reader did us a great service (so thank-you, you know who!). Their feedback inspired a discussion that’s relevant to every one of us: how we use tools like AI responsibly, how we respond to negativity, and how we stay focused on our vision.

Join the Conversation—and the Movement

I’d love to hear from you:

• What’s your take on AI in remote work? Have you tried it, or are you skeptical?

• Have you used AI to handle tough situations or improve your workflow? I’d love to hear your stories!

• What’s one topic or resource you’d like to see in an upcoming newsletter?

Also, plan on joining us for the upcoming PrideNomad Freedom Summit, happening December 16–18! We’ll be diving into all the tools, strategies, and community connections you need to live the ultimate location-independent life. We’ll explore tools and strategies to help you build a thriving, location-independent business while connecting with a global community. Secure your spot and save!

Let’s keep building this incredible community together.

Here’s to making the world your playground!
