Why We Do This: The Cowboy Who Couldn't Come Out

We love Mercury. It’s totally free banking! Perfect for nomads who need borderless business solutions. I've used them for years - they're a game-changer for nomads.

NOMAD BIZ:

Nobody Wants to be Sold. Here's What They Want Instead.

So picture this...

I'm somewhere between Fort Lauderdale and Key West, sipping something way too expensive on a cruise with PrideNomad Mom and my boy Perry Belcher.

(One of the smartest MFers in business, but don't tell him I said that.)

We got deep into this conversation about the future of business...

And holy shit, did it hit me hard:

Almost everyone is selling completely wrong.

Let's be real for a second...

We're all tired of being lied to.

Tired of the bullshit promises.

Tired of dropping cash on things that barely deliver half of what they promised.

And if YOU'RE feeling that way...

Your potential clients are feeling it 10x harder.

There's this massive trust deficit happening right now.

And if you don't know how to navigate it...

You'll keep grinding without getting anywhere.

But here's the thing...

The fix is actually pretty simple:

Start. Smaller.

Perry calls them "micro-wins."

Think about dating for a second:

You buy them a drink first.
Then maybe dinner.
Eventually a weekend away.

But you don't go from "Hey cutie" to "Let's move in and get matching tattoos."

(Though let's be honest... how many Grindr dates have basically gone that route? Don't @ me, you know I'm right 😜)

This same principle applies to your business.

Stop trying to sell your massive package right away.
(Yeah, I heard it as soon as I wrote it. Moving on...)

Instead...

Offer ONE tiny win that solves a real pain point.

Just blow their mind enough that they think:
"Damn. Okay. I trust you now."

That's when you've earned the right to ask for the next yes.

That's how freedom actually gets funded.

But wait... it gets better.

Perry dropped this idea that's been living rent-free in my head:

What if you stopped trying to DO all the things...

And instead became the person who connects the right people to the right solutions?

Think of yourself as a business general contractor.

You don't need to build the whole damn house.

You just need to:
• Ask the right questions
• Connect the right people
• Make sure shit gets done

That's. It.

This concept is literally changing how I look at everything...

From PrideNomad to AlexListens to how I help people like you make bank without selling your soul.

So let me ask you something real quick:

If you're somewhere between:

"I want to make money from anywhere"
and
"I don't want to sell out, burn out, or fake it online..."

Maybe you don't need another complicated funnel.
Maybe you just need a simpler model that actually fits YOU.

Here's what I'm thinking:

➡️ If you want help designing your perfect business path
—or—
➡️ If you already have a business and want to make it 10x more portable, profitable, or peaceful...

Hit me up. DM or reply to this email.
Let's figure out what would actually set you free.

We've got your back.

💌 PS: Want me to turn this "connector model" into a full PrideNomad-style business guide next week? Just reply with "Show me the map."

If enough of you want it... I'll build it.
(And make it actually useful, not just some rehashed BS.)

If not, I’ll be spending more time at the beach (isn’t that how it should be?)

Get Your Insider’s Guide to Puerto Vallarta

Wondering what daily life might really look like as a digital nomad in Puerto Vallarta?

Let’s paint you a little picture...

You wake up to the sound of waves or birds in the jungle hills.

After a smoothie from the local fruit stand, you head to a breezy café or co-working space with fibre internet and sea views.

Lunchtime? Tacos and cold coconut water from a street vendor who knows your name.

Evenings mean beach walks, art shows, salsa classes, or queer-friendly happy hours where locals and expats mix effortlessly.

It’s not a fantasy — it’s what many of my clients now call normal.

✈️ NOMAD HACK:

Your phone's "Offline Maps" feature isn't just for saving data.

Download the map of your next destination BEFORE you leave your current wifi.

Then screenshot your hotel/airbnb booking AND drop a pin on its location while you still have connection.

Why? Because nothing's worse than landing in a new city at 2am, with a dead phone, trying to explain to a taxi driver where you're going in a language you don't speak.

(Ask me how I learned this one the hard way in Bangkok... 🤦‍♂️)

WHY WE DO THIS:

🌈 The Cowboy Who Couldn't Come Out:
A Love Letter to Every Queer Traveler Who Finally Gets to Live Free

Ever heard of Guy Madison?

Square jaw. Piercing eyes. The kind of cowboy who made 1950s audiences swoon.

But off-screen?

He was just another man drowning in silence.

Guy Madison. Courtesy of Wikipedia.

Because back then, being seen meant losing everything.

Your career. Your reputation. Your whole damn life.

And he wasn't alone...

Hollywood's closets were packed tighter than the casting couch.

Queer stars didn't just act on screen...

They had to perform every second of every day.

One "wrong" glance...
One "suspicious" friendship...
One moment of truth...

And it was over.

Headlines screaming.
Careers shattered.
Lives destroyed.

So what the hell does this have to do with us?

Everything.

Because for so many of us...

Travel isn't about checking off tourist traps or collecting passport stamps.

It's about finally being able to breathe.

Finding places where holding hands isn't an act of rebellion.
Where dancing isn't a declaration of war.
Where existing isn't exhausting.

Every border we cross isn't just a line on a map.

It's an invitation to be ourselves.

We're not tourists.

We're survivors.
Explorers.
Warriors.

We carry the weight of silence—and the thrill of liberation—in every suitcase we pack.

Walking freely through a world that once demanded we hide.

Guy Madison never got to experience that freedom.

Never felt the rush of walking hand-in-hand down a street in Barcelona.
Never danced until sunrise at a club in Berlin.
Never got to just... be.

But we can.

And more importantly...

We must.

So the next time you book that flight...

Whether it's to Tel Aviv's beaches...
Or Tokyo's neon nights...
Or your first small-town Pride parade...

Remember:

You're not running away.
You're running toward something bigger.

You're not just traveling.
You're testifying.

Every smile.
Every kiss.
Every moment of unfiltered joy.

Is a tribute to everyone who couldn't.

✈️ Be proud.
Be visible.
Be gloriously, unapologetically free.

Because somewhere...
In whatever comes after this life...
Guy Madison is watching.

And finally...
Finally...
He's smiling.

P.S. If this letter hit home, share it. Because someone out there needs to read these words today. 🏳️‍🌈

P.S. Hey — quick personal note, just between us nomads…

I just released the pre-release edition of my book, No Closets. No Borders.

It’s not fully polished yet — but it’s real. And raw.
And maybe the most honest thing I’ve ever written.

I made it pay what you want (with a $9 minimum), not because I don’t think it’s worth more…
But because I wanted this to reach the people who need it most.

There’s a reason for that — and I’ll share the full story next week.

If you’ve ever felt like the world wasn’t quite made for people like us…

This book might just remind you you’re not alone.

📖 Download your pay-what-you-want copy here before the final version drops.

With pride & wanderlust,

Ken
